Responsibilities:
* The Senior Fire Officer is responsible for application procedures, submission processes and enforcement matters relating to fire safety and is responsible for advising on fire safety codes and practices;
* Reporting to the Chief Fire Officer, the Senior Fire Officer’s responsibilities also include:-
o Handling personnel administration and ensuring that the team is trained and familiar with their respective duties;
o Taking full charge of the fire brigade at the fire site/emergency site and executing the duties of the Duty officer;
o Deputizes for the Chief Fire Officer in his absence;
o Planning inspection, maintenance and testing schedules for all brigade firefighting equipment;
o Performing wet test of fixed fire protection systems on tankers, LPG Sphere, wharves, hoarding and filling stations, pumps and manifolds;
o Effecting repairs to faulty equipment when necessary;
o Keeping abreast of firefighting tactics and coaching of the team;
o Preparing the necessary administration for new equipment or replacements respectively;
o Reporting / Intervening when any unsafe behaviour or unsafe operating conditions are observed while working in the plant.
Requirements:
* At least 8 years experience as a fire officer;
* Possess either a university degree or polytechnic diploma in any technical discipline;
* A good level of physical fitness is necessary;
* Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence;
* The successful candidate will be required to work on rotating shifts;
* Work authorisation in Singapore is required for this position.
